Map Reading for Juniors

A fun relaxed one-day course aimed at young adventurers with a passion for exploring the outdoors.  At the end of the day the children will be confident in the basic principles of map reading, compass work and other navigation skills.  These skills can then be used to identify rights of way on a map, orientate the map to the landscape, then use a map and compass to navigate a route.  Being an outdoor course, we will also cover responsible and sustainable use of the countryside, special features of the National Park and the Countryside Code.

As well as being a useful skills course for any young explorer, it is ideal for DofE Bronze Award candidates as invaluable preparation for their expedition.

Duration: One day (10.00-16.00).
