Mountain Equipment began in 1961, participating in countless ascents of the world’s highest peaks and has since supported climbers establishing ever more adventurous routes with the best gear, and equipped world record setting trips to the North and South Poles.

Deuter has provided the Pied A Terre Adventure Leaders team with their backpacks (Futura 28, Futura 26SL, Guide and Guide SL) since 2019. With a legacy dating back to 1898, Deuter has established itself as a symbol of excellence, practicality, and endurance and are known as pioneers and European market leaders in the field of functional backpacks.
Our guides look for certain qualities in their backpacks such as durability, how easy they are to pack and access kit, and importantly, comfort. Deuter backpacks accompany our leaders on all adventures from lowland day walks, technical scrambles, winter mountaineering to multi-day hut-to-hut alpine treks.
